As also mentioned about many vastu tips...Here are few more for all those who are going to construct a house of their own.While constructing your own house you must keep in mind the following things-

1. South portion and south west portion of your house should be higher than the north or east direction. This means that North and north east portion should be lower than the south or south west portion.

2. The plot of the house should be in square or rectangular shape.It should not be in any irregular form. As irregular forms bring in bad luck, ill-health and results in many other problems.So shape of the plot plays an very important role in vastu.

Main Gate

• The entrance of the plot or house should be towards east,north or Northeast of the plot or house.
  

• The main entrance or the main gate should be bigger and higher than the other doors entering the house. It should have two gates.It is advice able that they should open inside the house.It will bring good luck and fortune in the house.

• The exit door should be smaller than the door,though which we exit.Therefore it is best to have two doors,one for entrance and one for exit.

• But it is to be taken care of that they should not fall in a straight line.It is best if this situation is avoided.
  

It is best if both the enterance to the property and the enerance to the house are in north and east directions.
